We have withdrawn a named medical reviewer credit from every page on this site
The credit appeared in 112 bylines and 24 structured-data blocks. Both were removed together, and the change is published rather than made silently.
A medical reviewer credit is a claim about who checked the clinical content on a page. This site
carried one in the byline of 112 pages and in the reviewedBy property of
24 structured-data blocks. It has been withdrawn from both.
The detail worth stating: removing the visible byline while leaving the schema in place would have retracted the claim to readers and kept asserting it to machines. An assistant reading our structured data would still have reported a physician review that the page no longer showed. Both surfaces were changed in the same build.
The editorial board page and the medical review policy have been rewritten rather than trimmed, because deleting a name from a sentence describing who reviews what leaves a broken sentence rather than an honest one. Pages that previously carried the credit now show the researcher and the review dates, with no named physician reviewer, and the policy says so explicitly.
